Capitalizing on the incredible success
of the movie "Titanic", Paramount Parks produced a traveling
exhibition of the original props, costumes and set pieces used in
making the movie. The exhibit featured the 50 foot model of
the ship that was used to create the 'at sea' shots,
the
Renault automobile, the original set of Cal's stateroom (and the
famous couch and sketches), the 'Heart of the Ocean' necklace,
dozens of costumes and recreations of several sets. One of our
senior technicians traveled with exhibit, supervising the take down
and reassembly in each city. When the tour arrived in Richmond, Virginia, which was our base of operations at the time,
a number of our technicians performed tasks ranging from assembling
the tent that housed the exhibition to careful repairs on the props.
