We've worked with all
kinds of clients, from small community theaters to theme parks to schools to cruise ships to
retail stores and even brides who wanted a memorable wedding.
It would be impossible (or at least impractical) to list everyone
we've worked with so we've selected a few clients to illustrate the
range of our services.
Ridgway Area School District
The technology in
school auditoriums has become more sophisticated and it is often
more complex than teachers and support staff can handle. We
serve as the auditorium manager for the Ridgway Area School
District, operating their equipment for most events, taking care of
routine maintenance, and creating and implementing a long range plan.
The plan focuses on addressing safety issues, performing
maintenance, improving the facility and correcting problems with
previously installed equipment. Aditionally we donate use of lighting equipment for all the performances in the auditorium.
Other area School Districts
Among others, we work with the St Marys Area School District, the Johnsonburg Area School District, and the St. Marys Area School District in the production of their plays and musicals. Our exact role depends on the Distrit and the needs of the production but we usually provide the technical support including lighting design, lighting equipment (and installation) and sound engineering. We are in the midst of a multi-year upgrade program where we are installing new sound and video systems at all of the Dubois Area School District's elementary schools. We also work several other school districts and the Sawmill Center for the Arts providing service on their lighting, sound and video systems as well as consulting and new equipment installation.
Ballet Theatre of Maryland
A client of over 20 years, Ballet
Theatre of Maryland is Maryland's only professional ballet company.
Our lighting designer, Stacie Johnson, works with them throughout
their season designing and operating the lighting for all their
productions, whether at their home theater or on tour at venues across the state.
Stacie works closely with the Artistic Director, the choreographers and scenery designer
to produce lighting which complements the artistic vision for each
production. We also furnish lighting and special effects
equipment for most performances.
Paramount Parks Production Services
The Production Services
division provided the scenery and technology for over 30 shows
featured in the Paramount chain of theme parks. Our
responsibilities started during the final weeks of construction when
our Technical Director traveled to the shops to review the plans and
try to catch any problems before the scenery shipped (since we sent
the same Technical Director to the same park every time they often
had better knowledge of the park than the folks in the shops).
We then supervised the loading of the truck and then traveled to the
park to make sure that they were ready. Once the trucks
arrived we, assisted by local park staff, assembled the scenery over
the course of several weeks. As opening day neared
our Technical Director would work with the designers, directors,
choreographers and performers to make sure that everything was
perfect. Paramount built several copies of each show and as
soon as one copy was installed the team was off to the next park to
install the next one.
Paramount Parks Design & Entertainment
The Design &
Entertainment division "dreamed up" the shows in the parks and also
produced special touring exhibits that would visit each park for a
few weeks during the season. Our responsibilities included
leading a team of up to 25 local workers in dismantling and loading
the exhibit and then traveling to the next city to unload and set up
the exhibit. On average it took a week to set up the exhibit
and 3 days to take it down.
TheatreVirginia
Until they closed their
doors late in 2001, TheatreVirginia was the main theater in Central
Virginia. We regularly provided technicians to help them
create their shows and maintain their equipment.
Ivy Corner Garden Center
A unique garden center
and gift shop, Ivy Corner wanted to come up with different ways of
displaying their eclectic collection of products. Over the
years we've designed and built a number of displays as well as a
flexible greenhouse with removable sides for use in the summer.
The store has a large roof and in 1995 we created a rooftop lighting
display for the holiday season. Since then we've been setting
up a new display every year. The display has become a mainstay
in the community and each year people eagerly await the "Grand
Illumination".
