In the fall of 2018 several faculty members at the Johnsonburg Area Middle/High School wanted to revive their drama program which had been dormant for a number of years. As they had limited theatrical experience they asked us to help them create an adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol' just in time for the Holidays. On a shoestring budget we designed and helped them build a multi-level set with a streetfront on the lower level and Scrooge's bedroom above. For scenes in Scrooge's office one wall of the set raised up and a slip stage rolled out with the office on it. As the school had very limited lighting capabilities we provided 30 fixtures with color changers to be able to light the stage. The production was a sucess and students did a wonderful job laying the ground work for future productions. |

The following year we helped them produce a Harry Potter parody, and after a break due to Covid we helped them with a musical revue.

For the 2022/23 school year the students wanted to tackle a musical and they chose to do a shortened version of the 'Addams Family' in February of 2023. Once again we designed and helped build the scenery along with some fun props including a torture rack for Puggsley. We brought in a full rig of over 60 lighting fixtures with Morpheus ColorFaders so that our lighting designer could create a wide range of looks, from a moonlit graveyard, to the fun of the bunny hop, to the romance of a tango. Just for fun we added strobe lights for lightening effects and our dry ice fogger for the graveyard!
The students worked very hard on the production and it was almost flawless, the best school show we'd been involved with in years!!!
